OBJECT
The object of the game is to form a hand that equals “9” or as close to “9” as possible. A hand containing two Jokers, called a “Natural”, beats all other hands.
THE DECK
21st Century Baccarat is dealt using eight standard 52 card decks with one Joker for each deck (eight Jokers) totaling 424 cards in a shoe.
STRUCTURE OF THE GAME
1. Each player, including the Player/Dealer places their wager before the cards are dealt. This is the only chance to place a bet.
2. The designated Player/Dealer (each player is offered the opportunity to be the Player/Dealer in turn, clockwise starting from seat #1) then shakes the dice cup to determine the order in which the player’s hand will be compared to his. In 21st Century Baccarat, the Player/Dealerís position is always 1, 9 or 17; numbers count clockwise.
3. The value of the hand is determined bythe sum of the cards:
· Picture cards and 10’s are counted as 0;
· Jokers are wild; they have any value between 0 & 9.
5. When play begins, all players receive two cards face down; the player/dealer hand will receive one card face up and one card face down.
6. When a player bets more than one spot (seat) he/she may check one hand only and the rest of the hands must play “house way.”
7. Players must position their cards in the proper Hit or Stand box to receive or not receive a draw card.
8. If the player/dealer’s up card is a joker; the deal is concluded.
9. Prior to the draw, the player/dealer’s initial two cards will be checked for any “9”, If the two cards total any “9” the deal is concluded. No one will be able to draw. The dealer will start opening all other hands.
10. If a player fails to declare a “Natural” the hand will play as “9.”
11. If the player/dealer has a “Natural” or “9”, the player dealer automatically wins all hands with the exception of other “Naturals” or “9’s” held by players.
12. If the player/dealer’s hand does not total a “Natural”or a “9”, the players have the option of drawing one additional card.
13. All players, including the player/dealer must hit on “4’s” or below and must stand on “7’s” and above. Option hands are “5’s” and “6’s.”
14. The player/dealer’s three card “9” hand pushes all players two card “9” hand.
15. The player/dealer wins all ties on zero.
16. House Way: Must draw on hands totaling “5” or below; must stand on hands totaling “6” or above.
HOW TO WIN
The hand equal to or closet to “9” wins; however a hand with two jokers win all other hands, including all “9’s”. When a player’s and the player/dealer hands have the same value, it results in a tie (push); no wager is exchanged.
BETTING LIMITS
Each table has a table tag defines the table limit and collection rate. For example, $10–$100 Limit, player may wager minimum of $10 to maximum of $100 per betting circle with $1 collection.
Players must bet within the table limits. There is no maximum for the Player/Dealer. The designated Player/Dealer can only receive ìactionî on the total amount he has wagered.
BACKLINE BETS
Each player’s position has circles numbered 1,2, and 3. The number 1 refers to the player who is occupying the seat and handling the cards for that specific position. Numbers 2 and 3 are areas that another player may wager on. If there is a dispute on how the hand should be played, the person with the largest wager in action shall have the final say. All wagers in the number 2 or 3 locations will pay equal time collection before each hand is played.
In the event the Player/Dealer’s wager does not cover the total of all players’ wagers then it is considered “no action”. All collections will be refunded to those players by issuing free collection buttons which players may use for the next hand.
