The game uses a standard deck of 52 playing cards, wagering consists of 4 betting rounds and number of players can be from 2 to 10, exactly like Texas Hold’em and Omaha. Players start with 4 cards in their hand. The “flop” consists of 2 cards followed by 1 “turn” card and 1 “river” card Players determine their best five card poker hand by using only any 2 or 3 cards from their 4 card hand with only any 2 or 3 of the four “shared” or “community” cards. The game begins with the posting of small and big blinds and each player is dealt 4 cards face down and like Texas Hold’em and Omaha, wagering begins with the player to the immediate left of the “big blind”. 1. High/Low 2. “Crazy 2-11 Poker” ( Applies when playing either high only or high/low ) Maximum number of players is 8 The game begins with the posting of blinds and dealing 5 cards to each player. After the flop or flip of 2 community cards is placed and before the second round of betting begins, each player still in the hand is required to discard, ( throw away ) one card. Play then continues in the same turn and river card manner described above.
Note: When a player uses 2 cards from their hand then they must use 3 cards from the table and if they use 3 cards from their hand then they must use 2 cards from the table.
After the betting round is called final, a card from the top of the deck is “burned” face down to the muck and a “flop” or “flip” of 2 cards is dealt face up and placed in the center of the table becoming “shared” or “community” cards. Wagering begins with the person still in the game and to the immediate left of the dealer button.
After the betting round is called final, a card from the top of the deck is “burned” face down to the muck and a single “turn” card is dealt face up and placed in the center of the table and slightly to the right of the flop becoming a 3rd “shared” or “community” card. The same wagering process as before ensues.
After the betting is called final, a card from the top of the deck is “burned” to the muck and a single “river” card is dealt face up and placed in the center of the table and next to the “turn” card becoming a 4th and final “shared” or “community” card. The same wagering process ensues until wagering is called final and the winner(s) are determined by the “cards speak” rule.
VARIATIONS
When the game is being played “High/Low”, a “7 low” condition exists. That means “qualifying” low hands will range from a ‘wheel’ (A,2,3,4,5) as the ‘best’ low hand and (3,4,5,6,7) as the worst low hand. Any 5 card grouping of low cards will qualify for low so long as no card higher than a 7 and no pair exists in the hand. There is no penalty when a straight or a flush is present in the low hand.
As in “High” only, players may only use any 2 or 3 cards from their 4 card hands with only any 2 or 3 of the four community cards to make their best high or low “5 card” hand and may win both “ends” of the pot. The pot is split evenly between the highest 5 card hand and the lowest 5 card hand. If no qualifying low hand is made, the high hand wins the entire pot. Ties for high or low are split accordingly.
