Ace Up Pai Gow Poker

The game uses 2 alternating standard 52 card decks with the addition of the Joker. The Joker in the game is played with specific considerations. It is considered “Semi Wild” and can be utilized as an Ace or to complete a straight or flush.

Each player receives a 7 card hand. In Ace Up the player/dealer reveals their 7 card first. Their hand is played “houseway” according to casino rules in which they “set” 2 cards on the top “hair”, and 5 cards set on the bottom, “behind”. The 5 card hand behind must rank higher than the 2 card hair. Players can then set their hands accordingly with the goal of both hands ranking higher than the player/dealer hand to win. If one hand is lower and one hand is higher than the player/dealer, the hand pushes, does not win or lose. If both of the hands rank lower than the player/dealer, the hand loses. If you copy in rank on either hand, it’s considered a “copy lose” in favor of the player/dealer. Players can set their hands or go houseway in which the player/dealer will set the hand for them. After everyone has placed their hands face down, each player’s hands are compared to the player/dealer. If the dealer hand is an “Ace High”, the highest hand played is a single Ace, all base bets push and the “Ace Up” bonus bet is paid according to the bonus chart.
