The game utilizes standard 52 card decks. All numbered cards have face value. Aces have a value of 1 or 11, face cards have a value of 10. The objective is to form a hand whose sum is closer to 21 than the player/dealer’s hand but does not exceed 21.
To play, a player will place an initial bet and receive two cards. The player/dealer hand receives one card face down and one card face up. Players have the option of doing the following actions:
• Hit - taking an additional card
• Double Down - take only one additional card with an added half or more of the original bet placed behind the original bet on the first two cards
• Split - split two cards of the same value by adding an additional same value bet which creates an additional hand, Aces will only receive one card
• Surrender- forfeit half their bet on the first two cards
• Stay - take no additional cards.
In Free Bet Blackjack, players receive an option of a free “split”. You can split Aces and up to three times for all other cards. An addition option is a free “double down.” Free double downs are only available on hands with the value of 9, 10 or 11. Both of these actions are represented with a free bet token.
Players cannot stay on a hand of 11 or less, players must stand on a hand with the value of 21. Once all players have acted, the dealer will reveal the player/dealer hand. The player/dealer must draw cards until a minimum of hard 17. The player’s hands are then compared to the player/dealer. The hand closer to 21 wins. If a player has the same value hand as the dealer, it is considered a “push”, neither wins nor loses.
A “Natural” in the game is any Ace with a Face Card or 10 on the first two cards. A Natural is paid 6 to 5. A Natural beats a hand equal to 21 that is not an Ace or 10 value card. If a player and player/dealer both have a Natural, the hands “push”. At the start of the game, if the player/dealer is showing an Ace or 10 value card as the up card, they will check to see if they have a Natural. If they have a Natural the game ends and all bets lose unless a player also has a Natural. A player has an option to buy “Insurance” on their hand before the player/dealer checks for the Natural. Insurance is an additional bet equal to half the amount of their bet. If the player/dealer does not have a Natural, the Insurance bet loses. If the player/dealer does have a Natural, the Insurance bet is paid double.
Push 22 is an optional bonus bet and holds an exception to normal game play. If the player/dealer busts (goes over 21), with a hand equal to the value of 22, all base bets push and push 22 bonus bets are paid 11 to 1. Additionally, if the player/dealer busts with the specific hand of 7,8,9 suited, any player hand that busts in that round will push.
An optional Progressive Jackpot bet is available for only one dollar and is paid according to the bonus chart for this game.
